By now, you must all be aware how much I love baths. I am SUCH a bath person. When we moved into our flat, we were each allowed one thing our new place HAD to have with no exceptions. I can’t remember what Joe’s was, but mine was a bath.

There’s literally nothing better to me than lighting a candle, filling my bath with a cocktail of nice smelling things, making myself a brew (or pouring myself a large glass of wine, depending on the day I’ve had) and soaking in a hot bath for an hour to totally unwind.

Or, alternatively, I’m a huge fan of a bath on a Saturday or Sunday morning to get my day started.

Basically, I love baths.

Usually, I’m more of a bath bomb/bubble bath kind of gal.  There’s something satisfying about watching a bath bomb fill the bath with colours, or watching the bubbles multiply.

BUT (yes, there’s a but) that was until I tried the Tropic Skincare bath soaks. Side note – is it just me or is there something satisfying about the word soak?

Why are they so special, you ask? Well, they are simply divine. They start as an oil until they hit the water, when they transform into a milk. I love this because as much as I love how nourishing an oil is, usually they just make me feel slippery. I’m not ashamed to admit I’ve struggled to get out of the bath in the past because of an overly oily product. I felt a bit like a stranded seal.

Because they are an oil-to-milk formula, they have all the beneficial properties of an oil without leaving you feeling all slimy. Apparently the key to this is in the vitamin E and macadamia oils. I’m no oil expert but honestly, when I got out of the bath my skin felt SO soft it was incredible.

So, let’s talk scents.

My personal favourite is the Soothe The Senses bath soak*, only because I prefer a relaxing evening bath. It’s filled with lovely things like frangipani, rose geranium and cedarwood and, because they’re aromatherapeutic essential oils, the smell just goes on and on and on. When I used this one, not only did my skin feel amazing, but I felt like my mind had a rest. I’m really receptive to scents, so even a whiff of something relaxing and I melt into a puddle, but this was another level. I could have happily gone straight to bed and slept for 12 hours!

The other is the Awaken The Senses bath soak*. And even though I prefer relaxing baths, this one is equally amazing at what it does. Unlike the Soothe The Senses, Awaken The Senses is zesty and citrussy. I used this one in a morning bath and I really felt like I could take on the day afterwards. It’s filled with bergamot, neroli, lime, lemon, mandarin AND sweet orange essential oils and honestly it just smells divine. It’s the sort of scent that immediately catches your attention and perks you up.

Honestly, I couldn’t recommend these soaks enough. They aren’t the cheapest bath products I own (£38 for 260ml) but because you don’t need much, I can foresee them lasting a really long time. Which I personally think is better value than a £5 bath bomb…

I mean, it’s Galentine’s Day today and Valentine’s Day tomorrow. I’d say treat yo’ self to some me time!
