Thoughtful Christmas gifting | AD

This is a sponsored post written in collaboration with Nomination.

I love Christmas. I love it SO MUCH. I love the songs, the films, the lights, the decorations. But one of my favourite things about Christmas is shopping for gifts for my nearest and dearest. I’m usually on the more skint side, so I like to put as much thought and effort into a present as possible, without necessarily splashing the cash.

I consider myself pretty good at thinking of presents perfect for someone and I love trying to find little surprises to brighten up their Christmas morning. Something that says “I know you’ll love this” rather than “anyone would probably like this”.

You may remember my post a few weeks ago about the Nomination Italy bracelet I put together? One of my favourite things about Nomination is how you can create a totally unique, completely personalised gift.

One person I really wanted to treat this year was my Mum. She’s the most fantastic person and if you can’t show the love at Christmas, when can you? As a family, we’ve had a kind of shitty couple of months and I think we all deserve a little treat this Christmas, but I just want to show my Mum how much I bloody love her. She’s a really sentimental person, so something like a Nomination bracelet is absolutely perfect for her.

Mum, if you’re reading this, stop reading now because SPOILER ALERT.

I chose a silver bracelet for her, the same as mine. For charms, I first chose a classic amethyst gemstone. Purple is her favourite colour and it’s a running joke with friends and family she loves anything purple and shiny, so this was an instant pick and a complete no brainer. I also chose a second gemstone – a pink aventurine to match the one on my bracelet. The charm was in the ‘mother and daughter’ collection and the stone is supposed to have calming qualities, which is never a bad thing.

I also chose three other charms for her bracelet – an ‘R’ for Rhianna, an ‘E’ for Ethan (my little brother, who is moving to Australia in a few weeks) and an ‘S’ for Steve, my Dad. This way she’s always got a little bit of her family with her.

And the best part? Shopping for her in the future is going to be so much easier! Hope she doesn’t mind getting new Nomination charms every Christmas and birthday for the forseeable…

Something I didn’t know about Nomination was the fact they don’t *just* do charm bracelets. They have so much choice of other jewellery! To go with her bracelet, I chose my Mum a pair of earrings. Some gorgeous opal gemstone ones that I know she’ll love.

But, if earrings and charm bracelets aren’t your jam? They sell standard bracelets (AKA non-composable ones), necklaces, the lot. I picked up one of their Essenzia bracelets in black and a beautifully dainty rose gold necklace.

If you’re looking to buy something a little special for a loved one this year, I’d definitely recommend heading into a Nomination store. Their knowledge on the products are amazing, they know exactly how to arrange the charms so the bracelets look their best and they gift wrap everything so beautifully. For all you Northern pals, my nearest Nomination is at the White Rose Centre, but they’ve also got a store in Wakefield.

And if you’re quick, they’re running a great Black Friday offer! If you spend £100 or more, you’ll get a free jewellery box (worth £25) for free!

Thanks again to Nomination – I can’t wait to give my Mum her gifts!
