Joe and I usually have a night or two away somewhere for both our birthdays, whether it be the epitome of a staycation by having a weekend in Leeds or going somewhere a little further afield. For my birthday this year, I chose a weekend in Liverpool!
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll already know this from all the Instagram Stories and the incessant stream of photos I’ve posted since. (Not sorry – how flipping pretty is Liverpool??)
I took so many photos, I had no real excuse not to do a blog post. That, and I really love photo diary posts (both to read and to write).
So, to summarise our weekend: it was flawless. We arrived to beautiful weather at Titanic Hotel (which was easily the nicest hotel I’ve EVER stayed in), got dressed up and went for dinner at Stanley’s Bar & Grill (which was one of the best meals I’ve ever had – so good, in fact, I completely forgot to get any photos) and stayed up late drinking in the hotel bar. We went back up to the room, I had a bath and we watched RuPaul in bed with a bottle of wine. (We know how to live the high life, clearly.)
The next day, the weather was still beautiful. We went to Moose Coffee for the best brunch we’ve ever had, wandered around Liverpool finding Instagram spots and pretty views, stopping at Albert Docks for some photo ops and Love Thy Neighbour on Bold St (aka the most Instagram cafe in existence) for some style shots and a cuppa.
To say we were only there two days, it felt like the most perfect break and we will definitely be back in Liverpool for a little bit longer next time. It completely stole my heart!
So, on that note, here are some photos from the weekend. There are so many and I’ve already cut them down SO much, so if you don’t like photo heavy posts you’ll just have to deal. Thank you Liverpool for being so fantastic and thank you Joe for being the best travel partner a gal could ask for!
