New year, new hair, new blog

New year, new hair, new blog | rhianna olivia

Hello! And welcome to RhiannaOlivia.com

Now THIS is a post I’ve been wanting to write for a while! I’m back, my blog is back, the content is back and I am bloody BUZZING about it.

There’s a lot of new things around here. Not only is the blog new, but I’m feeling a little new myself!

Recently, I started feeling like I’d lost myself. After the redundancy I had a little life crisis – I didn’t know what I wanted to wear, how I wanted to do my makeup, what I wanted to blog about, what I wanted to do with my life. It was shit.

Since then, I’ve found a job I love, turned 24, cut my hair off and bleached it (anyone else feel like a new person when you get a new ‘do?), launched this new swanky blog, started buying clothes I love again and it’s such a welcome change. I feel like 23 was a really shit age and I’m going to make 24 amazing. 24 is going to be the year I properly become me again.

So, what’s new on the blog?

(First off, can we talk about how my outfit in these photos PERFECTLY matches my new blog branding? Because that wasn’t even intentional and I’m pretty pumped about it.)

I know this isn’t exactly a surprise – I’ve been talking about having a big rebrand since around Christmas (and I’ve been wanting to do it for probably close to a year now). But something always got in the way. Whether it be “I don’t know what I want my new URL to be” to not being able to afford new domains, hosting packages, themes etc whilst I was unemployed, it’s only just now actually been able to be a reality for me and I am so beyond excited about it.

Don’t get me wrong, I am sad to see robowecop go. RBC meant a lot to me, it represented a big time in my life – I started this blog just over 3 years ago under the name robowecop and since then I’ve gone from a University placement student to a final year student to a graduate to being made redundant to finally being an adult in a job I love. It saw me through a lot and was there for me when I needed an escape. Robowecop will ALWAYS have a place in my heart.

But it just didn’t feel “me” anymore.

And this new blog just feels SO me. (Not only because it’s my name.)

Honestly, I’m just so happy with everything I could cry. I have this new lease of life and my blogging fire has well and truly returned, I’m excited for this new chapter! Big ups to Phil at Pipdig for doing such a stellar job and doing all the hard parts for me! He’s a gem!

As for my new theme, I think it’s pretty self-explanatory. I have a popular posts tab at the top of the home page, where you can see all the most popular content from the last 3 months in case you don’t feel like scrolling for ages. Then there’s my Instagram feed because FOLLOW ME. Then there’s the actual, chronological content, heavily photo based as compared to my last theme that had post snippets to wet your appetite (lol better start thinking of some catchy af titles).

All that is followed by a ‘shop my Instagram’ widget, where you can see all my favourite bits that have featured on my Instagram feed and shop them with just one click. (And I’ll make a few pennies if you decide to buy because they’re affiliates – thank you in advance if you buy anything <3)

(Then another snippet of my Instagram feed because OMG FOLLOW ME.) (I have zero chill.)

All my categories are still the same and available from the nav bar at the top of the blog, I have a shiny new about me page and a shiny new ‘work with me’ page and I think that’s everything!

So, what can you actually expect from this relaunch?

Honestly – nothing TOO different to robowecop in terms of content. I’m still going to be doing lots of lifestyle posts, the occasional recipe/restaurant review, beauty bits and travel posts if and when I go anywhere.

My content is, however, going to be a lot more chilled. (Minus the photography, which I will still try to make as shiny, sparkly and swoon-worthy as humanely possible because I love photographing blog posts SO much!). I wrote a post a little while back about wanting my blog to have less “bigness” and that’s exactly what I’m doing – more casual, quick posts like “oh my god you need this jacket”, “I want to tell you about this lipstick” and “we went on a day out and here are some photos”.

I’m definitely going to be doing more fashion/style content. I feel like I’m really getting in the zone with my style and having a blogger boyfriend stroke 24/7 Instagram husband and outfit photographer really helps tbh. (Thanks Joe, you’re a babe.)

Oh, and one other thing…

The last big thing I need to mention (I think) is that I’m starting a weekly NEWSLETTER. *gasp*

You can sign up here, they’ll go out every Sunday and the first one will be landing in your inboxes tomorrow! (Sunday 14th May)

In the newsletter you can expect lots of nice things! I’ll be linking to some of my favourite things from the week (blog posts, any news I have, things I want to buy, people I’ve been loving on social etc etc etc – it will vary each week), what I’ve been listening to, what I’ve been blogging about and lots more!

You’ll get exclusive content, behind-the-scenes stuff and I’m thinking about running a weekly discussion to go alongside the newsletter, but I’m not sure yet. (Yes? No?)

The key thing I want to make sure I do with each newsletter is that I don’t want them all to be the same. There will be sections each week that will be there in every issue, but every so often I might add other things. Thought pieces from things that have been on my mind, quick recipes, blog and life news, whatever pops into my head that I think you might like.

I’m also going to do a blogger spotlight feature once a month. Any blogger I’ve been loving will get a little “60 seconds with” Q&A style section (if they want it, of course! I’m not going to force anyone!) on the first edition of each month (the first feature will be on June 4th). Sharing that love, yo.

I’m seeing these newsletters as an extension of my blog and I REALLY hope you like them! Again, you can sign up here and if you have any feedback/any ideas/specific things you’d like me to include just let me know!

As far as I can tell there’s now a Bloglovin page for your new URL too, but I’m still getting the posts via the old robowecop page. I hope that makes sense, I’m not really sure how to describe it.
