Hello hello hello! (10 points to you if you read that in RuPaul’s voice).
Before I start this post, I just wanted to give you an apology for disappearing for a few weeks. If you read my last post (which was posted nearly 3 weeks ago… oops) you’ll know we’re moving house soon! We’re moving into our first little flat together in under 2 weeks now, and although we’re bouncing off the walls with excitement, there’s a LOT to do and blogging has taken a back seat whilst we get sorted.
Once we’ve moved in and settled, all will be back to normal. And keep your eyes on my YouTube channel for some moving vlogs!
Anyway, on with the post.
I feel like everyone is getting in the Christmas spirit earlier than normal this year? I mean, I always make the transformation from pumpkin-hoarding, scary-film-watching witch, to gingerbread-making, jumper-wearing elf as soon as it hits 00:01 on November 1st anyway. But this year everyone seems to be matching my excessively festive spirit?
I don’t know why, but I’m here for it.
Honestly, one of my favourite things about Christmas is buying gifts for those I love. I’m a bit of a Leslie Knope when it comes to present buying, and I just find it so fun hunting for *that* perfect present.
This year, however. It’s becoming a bit of a struggle. Because we’re moving into our first flat, our Christmas budget is much smaller and we have much less time to present shop than normal. I’m having to spend all my free time shopping for sofas and lamps, rather than gifts for my friends and family.
Joe and I were brainstorming gifts to get each other, and gifts to get other people and for a lot of people, we settled on fragrances.
I, for one, love receiving perfume as a gift. I like to have a few perfumes on the go at once because the scent I wear definitely depends on my mood. But I have some weird objection to buying it for myself? (Anyone else like this? I always get a bit annoyed if I have to buy my own??)
I also love buying fragrances for other people, because it’s a fairly easy gift, it’s a good way of saving yourself time and money whilst still allowing for some personality and thought. I can still put thought into buying someone a fragrance for Christmas, and I can still make it a personal gift without it taking up too much of my “oh holy crap we’re moving in 2 weeks and still don’t have any furniture” time.
Fragrance Direct have put together a thoughtful gift edit with some great fragrances for you to buy for your loved ones. I chose one of my personal favourites, Chloé’s Signature Eau de Parfum* and I chose Hugo Boss’ BOSS The Scent* for Joe. Make sure you check out Fragrance Direct if you want to give any of your friends/family the gift of fragrance this Christmas!
Keep an eye on my social media and my YouTube channel for updates on the move, and I promise everything will be back to normal soon! (Also, please end calming vibes our way!)
